Description

I’ve had this Trioh teak table for years — it’s one of those pieces that just feels right in any room. Made in Denmark in the 1960s, it’s a solid, well-made piece that actually works the way it was meant to: you can easily shift it from a low coffee table to a full dining table with a smooth, quiet lift-and-lock mechanism. The teak is rich and stable, with that classic Scandinavian clean lines and tapered legs that give it a quiet elegance.

I bought it when I was renovating my flat, and it’s been a game-changer — especially in a smaller space. It’s not flashy, but it does exactly what it’s supposed to: it saves floor space, works for casual drinks or a full meal, and just looks great without trying too hard.

It’s been professionally restored and cleaned — no dents, no warping, just solid, well-used teak. The finish is lovely, and I’ve used a little teak oil to keep it looking good. I’d say it’s in excellent condition for its age.

I live in Newtonmore, Highland now, so if you're local, I can pop it out for you or arrange a collection from our workshop (SO41). For further afield, I can get a courier quote — just ask.

I’ve been sharing a few of these mid-century pieces on Instagram @hookeandtaylor — if you’re into vintage design, you might like some of the others too. Brands like G-Plan, Nathan, Schreiber, and a few others are on there.

Simple care: dust with a soft cloth, use coasters, and give it a light oil every few months to keep the wood looking fresh.

It’s not just furniture — it’s a piece that fits into a life, not just a room. And honestly, I’m glad I kept it.
