So, I’ve had this 2000 BMW Z3 3.0i for over 20 years now — it’s been a real joy to drive, even if I’ve only ever used it on weekends and short trips. It’s not flashy, but it’s got that classic, clean look and a solid feel under the wheels.

I bought it new in 2000, and it’s been five owners since — each one took good care of it, which is rare. The last service was in April 2024, just 150 miles ago, and the MOT is valid until mid-June 2026, with no issues flagged for the last few years. It’s been properly maintained, with things like shocks, suspension bushes, the soft top, rear window, battery, and brake calliper all replaced over the years.

It’s a factory M Sport model with the 3-litre M54 engine — 231bhp and 221lb/ft of torque — and a 5-speed manual, which is the dream combo for this car. It’s got all the original bits: factory stereo, air-con, electric leather seats, and the original toolkit and handbook. The interior’s been kept tidy, with just a bit of stone chipping on the front and a small crack near the rear light — nothing major.

The car has done around 77,000 miles from new, and only about 400 miles in the last two years. It’s been parked a lot, mostly in oakworth, Bradford, where I’ve lived for the past decade.

I’ve been thinking about letting it go — not because it’s worn out, but because I’ve started using a different car for daily stuff. I know it’s a bit of a stretch to sell something that’s only been driven a few hundred miles in the last couple of years, but I just can’t keep it around anymore.

It’s going to be auctioned by Iconic Auctioneers online on Thursday, 28th August. I’ll be sharing photos once they’re ready — no fancy marketing, just real photos of the car as it is.

No ABS, no fancy tech — just a clean, reliable, old-school roadster that’s been treated like a piece of family gear.
