Got these two hardbacks lying around from when I was into drink guides a few years back — both are in great shape, no tears, no dog-eared pages.

One’s the Prosecco Made Me Do It — it’s all about sparkly cocktails, from bellinis to fruity mimosa, with 60 recipes and some gorgeous illustrations. The art’s bright and shows all the botanicals and mixers you’d expect. There’s even a few gin-based ones, which I actually tried a couple of times.

The other is The Gin Dictionary — I picked it up because I love a good gin story. David T. Smith breaks it down nicely: history, how gins are made, different types, flavour notes, and all the cool cocktails. It’s not just about drinking, it’s about understanding the spirit behind it.

I’ve been meaning to part with them — kept them in a drawer for ages, never actually used them much. Still, they’re solid reads.
