Description

So I’ve had this Philodo H8 e-bike for just over a year now, and honestly, it’s been one of the most reliable rides I’ve ever had. I picked it up when it was new, and it’s done about 1500 miles — not a lot, really, and it’s been mostly used for commuting and weekend trips around west-mersea, Colchester.

It’s a dual motor cargo e-bike with a 48v 22Ah battery, which gives you good range for what you’re doing — no need to keep charging up mid-day. The 2000W motor is strong, especially on hills, and the front and rear torque (82N.m each) means it just feels solid when you’re going uphill or hitting rough ground. I’ve never had to struggle with it, even on steeper bits of road.

The display is a nice little LCD screen — shows speed, battery, power, and you can adjust assist levels on the fly depending on how tough the ride is. And the hydraulic disc brakes? They cut power when you brake, which helps with safety and keeps the motor from spinning. I’ve actually used that feature a few times when stopping at junctions — it’s a small thing, but it makes a difference.

The suspension fork has a lock-out and spring stiffness settings — useful if you’re riding on uneven ground or just want to switch between comfort and performance. The 26x4 inch fat tyres give it a stable, wide stance, and the wider seat means long rides don’t feel tiring. I’ve used it for groceries, errands, and even a few weekend trips off-road.

I’ve got the Shimano 21-speed cassette, which pairs well with the pedal assist — you can pick your gear depending on the terrain. The bike also comes with two rack bags, two seats, two phone holders, two d-lock locks, a toolkit, two keys (for battery and bike), a helmet, and a sun visor that clips on magnetically. That’s over £150 worth of extras.

It’s not a flashy bike, but it’s been super dependable. I bought it for £1600, and it’s been solid since. I’m just looking to pass it on — buyer has to pay in cash or bank transfer and pick it up from the WA7 area. If you’re in the area and have a use for something reliable and a bit tough, it’s worth a look. No hard feelings if you're just curious — I’ll even show you how it works if you want.
