Denon DCD-1100 CD Player
Description
Got this old Denon DCD-1100 from the mid-80s — one of the early models they released in '86, right in the middle of the three versions. It’s a solid piece, works perfectly fine, and just sounds smooth when you play something. I’ve been using it for years, and it’s still got that warm, clean feel — not too flashy, just nice and easy to listen to.The remote’s missing, which is a bit of a bummer, but I can still operate it with the front panel. It’s got a PCM53JP-V digital converter and the KSS-121A mechanism, which was pretty solid for its time. Specs-wise, it handles up to 20kHz, has a good dynamic range, and runs on a clean signal with low distortion — not perfect, but not bad at all.
It’s about 434mm long, weighs in at 5kg, and I’ve got it tucked away in my corner of the living room. I’m in Swanage, Dorset, and if you're around, I can show it off — I’ve got a few other hifi bits I’ve been keeping for years, so if you’re into that kind of thing, feel free to check out my profile.
Priced at £54 — not too much, just what it is.
