Campagnolo Mirage 10 Speed Rear Wheel – Polished Alloy, Double Walled, Eyeletted
Description
These wheels are a bit of a project — built by my mate George, who’s in his 80s and still digs bikes like a second skin. He’s been doing hand-built wheels for years, and this one’s got the original Campagnolo Mirage hub and 10-speed cassette, all the way through. The rim’s new, polished silver anodised alloy, 36 holes, narrow road width, double-walled for strength, and the braking surfaces are smooth with a wear indicator line. Spokes are stainless steel with eyeletted holes for extra rigidity.I’ve been using these on my own bike for a few years — they’re solid, quiet, and handle well. George’s been building them in Roslin, Midlothian, and I just wanted to share one with someone who appreciates the old-school build quality.
If you're interested, I’d rather talk over the phone — no texts, no emails. Just a quick call to check it out. Price is £67.50, but I’m not going to say that in the title.
If you’ve got any interest in custom builds, George’s also got a radial laced wheel and a few others — you can see them on Underground Bicycles. I’ve got a few more bikes listed there if you want to check out what else I’ve got.
3/22/2025 – just a quick note, I’m still working on the next one!
