So, I’ve had this 2016 Nissan Juke Tekna for about six months now — it’s been the same local guy who’s owned it since the beginning, and it’s been a proper joy to drive. The colour’s a sharp metallic blue, and the interior’s all black leather — feels premium, doesn’t look like a second-hand car at all.

It’s the top-spec Tekna version, so it’s got loads of smart features: 360 camera, satellite navigation, touchscreen with Bluetooth, CD player with AUX and USB, DAB radio, cruise control, heated seats, electric windows, power steering, remote central locking, and even traction control and anti-lock brakes. I don’t know about you, but that’s a pretty solid list of stuff for a family hatchback.

The 1.5-litre diesel engine with a 6-speed gearbox is a real workhorse — gets great mileage and only costs £20 a year in road tax. It’s been driven like a proper car, not a showpiece, and it’s still in excellent condition for its age. I’ve done a few thousand miles, but it’s always felt smooth and reliable.
