1998 Suzuki Bandit 1200

Description

So, I’ve had this 1998 Suzuki Bandit 1200 for a few years now and it’s been through a pretty thorough overhaul. It’s not just sitting there — it’s been properly sorted, both inside and out.

I did a full respray on the tank, side fairing, and the seat — went with a metallic green that looks sharp. The bike has a new rear sprocket and chain, spark plugs, all fluids, battery, and a new petrol tank seal and trim. Mirrors, footrest rubbers, and the billet fork brace were all replaced. The headlamps got a twin setup with billet brackets — still looks factory clean.

Brakes got new pads front and rear, plus braided hoses. Forks were refurbished with new seals and dust caps. The swing arm’s been checked and looks solid. I’ve got a Black Widow exhaust with the original high link pipe still in — that’s a nice touch.

I also swapped in a gimbel single seat conversion (original included, just not sure if it’s the right one for you), and all the gauges — clocks, petrol gauge, bowls — are working again. There’s a small front mudguard too, original but needs a bit of paint to match.

I’ve got the renthal bars, crash bungs, and the centre stand — I’ll reattach it if you want. Also throwing in some spare parts: brand new steering head taper roller bearings, and the dyno kit I didn’t get around to installing. Show plate is included too.

The upgrades alone cost over £600 — it’s not just a shell, it’s been treated like a proper machine. It runs smooth, handles great, and sounds like it’s been built for the road. No leaks at all — wouldn’t park it on my patio if there was a single drip.

Mileage is a bit messy — the clocks were showing 30km when I got it, and were in a mess, so I swapped them out. The last MOT showed about 30km. I don’t know the exact number, so no guarantees there.
