2002 Audi A3 S3 Quattro 3dr [225] Hatchback Petrol Manual
Description
So I’ve had this 2002 Audi S3 for a while now — the original Mk1, the one that really set the bar for what a sports hatchback could be. It’s in brilliant red, a facelift version with the 225BAM engine, and it’s not just sitting there — it’s been properly upgraded and cared for over the years.I’ve spent a fair bit on it over the years — thousands, honestly — so it’s not the stock version you see in videos or ads. Upgrades include a full Stage 3 setup: front airtek intercooler, oil catch can, ram air induction, hybrid turbo, catback exhaust, big Brembo brakes, coilovers, and a boost gauge. There’s also a stage 2 clutch and flywheel, mapped with launch control — you can actually hear the pop and bang when you go hard, and it’s got that real performance edge.
Inside, I retrimmed the roof and door cards with white Alcantara, and the headunit is a double DIN touch screen. Factory Bose sound system too — no extra boxes, just clean, crisp audio.
It’s been serviced recently — new tyres, new brake calipers, and braided brake lines. All the basics are in great shape, including ABS and safety belt pretensioners. The wheels are brand new 3DSM 00.01 alloys — those cost over a grand when I got them.
It’s not flashy or basic — this car has been treated like a proper project. I’ve kept it well maintained, and it’s still running strong. Prices for S3s have been going up, so it’s a solid long-term investment.
If you’re interested, I’m happy to talk — I live in Treherbert, Rhondda Cynon Taf, and I’m around most days from 9am to 5.30pm, and weekends from 10am to 4pm.
It’s not just a car — it’s a piece of driving history I’ve kept alive. And yeah, it’s worth a bit — £4,941, if you’re curious. But that’s not the point. The point is it drives like it’s supposed to.
