Description

Got a pile of these Cupa Heavy 3 slates left over from our own house build — never been used, just sat on a pallet in the garden for a few years. I'm not sure if they're still in demand, but they're solid, natural slate, about 7-8mm thick, which I reckon is perfect for Scottish weather. The colour’s a deep blue-black with a bit of grit to it, and some of the pieces show those neat parallel lines on the cleavage side — you can actually see the stone structure. They come from the CUPA PIZARRAS No3 quarry in San Pedro de Trones, Spain, which’s been going since 1892. I just figured I’d part with them since I’ve got a new roof on the back and don’t need them anymore. All the slates are in good shape, just need a bit of cleaning and a good laying. If you're looking for something that’s actually been used in a real build, this might be a solid pick — and I'm only asking £450. Might be a bit of a long haul to get to, but I’m happy to help with delivery if needed. Location’s fauldhouse, Shotts Road.
