Description

I’ve had this 2016 BMW X5 for a few years now and it’s been a solid daily driver. Only 79,876 miles on the clock, and it’s been well looked after – regular servicing, no major issues, just the kind of car you’d trust on a long road trip or when you’re hauling gear.

It’s the M Sport trim, so it’s got that sporty feel – the 3.0L diesel engine pulls smoothly, and I’ve noticed it gets from 0 to 62 in about 5.9 seconds, which is pretty quick for a diesel SUV. The four-wheel drive is handy, especially when the weather turns, and it’s got a decent towing capacity of 3,500kg – useful if you’ve got a trailer or caravan.

Inside, it’s got that nice panoramic sunroof with the opening function, which I love on sunny days. The cabin is clean and well laid out – there’s a 10.2-inch touchscreen with navigation, Bluetooth, phone connectivity, and even a DAB radio. I use the voice control quite a bit, and the BMW ConnectedDrive stuff works well.

The seats are heated, the front ones are height-adjustable, and I’ve got memory settings for my driver’s seat. There’s also a third row – not the most comfortable, but it does give you more space if you’re travelling with family or extra gear. The boot’s big too – plenty of room for luggage or camping gear.

I’ve kept it clean and maintained, and it’s got all the safety features you’d expect: ABS, electronic stability control, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, and even a kid-proof locking system. The alloy wheels are 20-inch M-style, and the exterior trim is polished – chrome kidney grilles, high-gloss shadowline, and those nice LED fog lights.

It’s not flashy, but it’s reliable, quiet on the road, and I’ve found it to be a lot easier to drive than I expected. Insurance is low, which I appreciate.

It’s currently parked in Inverness, Highland – just a quick drive from the city centre if you’re local. I’m not looking to sell it for a big profit, just passing it on to someone who might actually use it. It’s not perfect, but it’s been a good companion through years of travel, weather, and long drives.

If you’re interested, I’m happy to chat – no pressure, just sharing something I’ve used.
