VW Viking T25 camper 1980
Description
So, I’ve had this old VW Viking T25 sitting in my garden in Harrogate for a few years now. It’s a 1980 model, 1.7L petrol, air-cooled — the kind of thing that makes you go, “Wow, this was actually a thing.” The engine’s not running right now, it’s been sitting for a while, but it’s solid underneath and the chassis is still in good shape. I’ve done a bit of inspection and it’s not a running vehicle, more of a project piece — it’s got some rust and a few small holes, but nothing too bad. The interior’s a bit dated, but it’s still usable and the space is actually quite spacious for a van. It’s covered around 81k miles, which isn’t a lot for its age, especially considering it’s been parked for years. It’s not road legal — no MOT, no road tax, and it’s exempt from ULEZ. So if you’re looking to restore it and turn it into something special, this is a great starting point. I’ve included a few spare bits in the price — things like the original wiring loom and a couple of hinges — just to make the process a bit easier.
It’s not going to be a weekend getaway van, but if you’re into vintage restorations and have the time and the passion, it’s definitely worth a look. I’ve never sold one before, so it’s just me being honest about what it is — not a showpiece, but a real project. Price is £720, but I’m open to offers if you’re serious about it. Just let me know if you’re up for it.
