Vintage 1936 HMV mirror top radio and television

Description

Got this old HMV mirror top radio and TV from my dad’s side of the family — it’s a real throwback, one of the first televisions ever made. From 1936, so it’s a bit of a piece of history. It’s not working at all, needs a full rebuild to get it going again. The woodwork is solid, the veneer’s still nice and the finish holds up well, though there’s a small water mark on the lid and a few scuff marks from years of being passed around. The inner workings are mostly there — even has the CRT tube and all the bits — just needs a bit of fixing. It’s heavy as a brick, definitely needs two people to move it. I’ve got it on four small casters so it’s manageable, but it’s not something you’d want to try to move around a lot. I’ve kept it in my family for 70 years, and it’s been sitting in my dad’s old house in Nuneaton, Nuneaton and Bedworth for a while now. It’s not going to be fixed anytime soon, but I’ve finally decided to part with it. It’s not for use, but if you’re into vintage tech or just love a bit of history, it’s a real gem. Price is £2,250 — just thought I’d throw that in for transparency.
