I’ve got this 2017 BMW 118d M Sport Shadow Edition hatchback – it’s a proper little beast with a punchy 2.0-litre diesel engine and around 148 hp. It’s not the fastest, but it’s got that sporty feel you get when you step into a real M-style car.

The exterior has those dark accents and M Sport bumpers – gives it a sharper, more aggressive look. The wheels are alloy, and the interior is all about sporty details: M-style seats, sharp stitching, and a solid, well-made cabin that doesn’t feel cheap.

It comes with the iDrive system, so you can navigate, connect your phone, and keep the radio going without hassle. The car’s got traction control, multiple airbags, and all the modern safety stuff you’d expect. I’ve tested it quite a bit – it’s reliable, gets good fuel economy (usually 50+ mpg combined), and pulls 0-60 in about 8.5 seconds.

I’ve kept it well-maintained, and it’s been through a full service check. The gearbox is solid – I’ve had it with both the manual and the automatic (Steptronic), but I’m not sure if I’ve driven it with the auto much yet.
