2014 Swift Escape 696 6-Berth Family Motorhome
Description
So, I’ve had this 2014 Swift Escape 696 for a few years now and it’s been my go-to for family holidays — especially when we’ve been camping or just wanted to move around without the hassle of a full house. It’s a solid, light-and-airy motorhome with a Fiat 2287cc engine and 130bhp, manual 6-speed gearbox, and chain drive — nothing fancy, but it runs smoothly and handles well. It’s 6.9 metres long, just under 50,000 miles on the clock, and has a GVW of 3500kg — so no problem driving with a standard UK licence. The MOT’s valid until June 2026 with no advisories, which is a big plus.
Inside, it’s roomy enough for a family of six. The front dinette seats six and can easily convert into a double bed — super handy when we’re on the move. There’s a spacious over-cab bed, plus two transverse bunk beds in the back — one of them has a folding lower bunk, so you can use the space for storage or even a garage when you’re on the road.
The kitchen is solid: combined oven and grill, 3-burner gas hob, microwave, fridge with freezer, and a sink with hot and cold taps. The washroom has a shower, vanity, and a cassette toilet — basic but clean and functional.
Outside, it’s got two refillable GasLow bottles, a 100w solar panel, a TV aerial, air conditioning with Bluetooth, a bike rack, and a spare tyre. The heating’s done by a Truma system — keeps things warm in the winter, especially when it’s chilly outside.
I live in Pencoed, Hendre Road, so if you’re around, pop by — or just give me a call. I’m happy to show you around when it’s convenient.
The price is £28,799.10 — not a lot to say about that, really, just how it sits on the market.
I’ve had it through full service history, and it’s HPI checked. Everything’s been properly documented — V5, service records, all that.
I’m not selling it through a dealer — it’s just me, keeping it in the family for a while longer, and now I’m passing it on.
If you’re interested, just give me a shout. I’ll chat through it properly and see if it’s something you’d actually use. No pressure, just a real, honest talk about what it’s like to live in it.
I’ve never advertised like this before — I just wanted to be clear about what it is and what it’s like to use. If you’ve been thinking about a motorhome and want something that’s actually usable, not just a showroom piece, this might be worth a look.
(No part-exchange or finance options at the moment — just a straightforward handover. If you’re serious about it, I can help you get a quote for insurance or a warranty if you want. But again, it’s just me, and I’m not selling it to anyone I don’t trust.)
