Yamaha DX7 FM Synthesizer

Description

I’ve had this DX7 for years — it’s the one I picked up back in the day when I was still getting into synth music. It’s in pretty good shape overall, not fancy or showroom-ready, but it works well and plays the way it should. I’m not offering it for shipping — it’s just not practical. Have to pick it up in person, and I’ll be in Saxmundham, East Suffolk.

It’s a real 1983 model, and if you’ve ever heard that crisp, glassy, bright FM sound — like in 80s pop or new wave — this is the machine that made it happen. I’ve loaded it with tons of patches, and it’s super easy to swap them in via MIDI Sysex. The sound is iconic, and it’s been used by artists like Phil Collins, A-ha, and Chicago — which makes it more than just a gadget, it’s a piece of music history.

I’ve kept it mostly untouched, so it’s still reliable and has that classic character. If you’re into vintage synths or just want that unmistakable 80s FM vibe, this might be something you’d actually enjoy playing. Just keep in mind it’s not going anywhere — pick it up when you’re around Saxmund. Price is £445.50 if you’re interested, but I’m not going to push it. Just thought I’d share it.
