Description

I’ve had this Roland JX-8P for years – it’s one of those pieces that just feels alive when you play it. The 80s analog sound is real, not just a simulation. It’s got that warm, gritty character you can’t get from modern gear. I’ve used it a lot for music-making, and it’s been reliable, though it’s definitely not a super portable rig.

It’s in good working order, so if you’re into vintage synths and want to get into that analog vibe, it’s worth checking out. The polyphony is 6 voices, two DCOs per voice (pulse, saw, square, noise), and it has a solid LFO with delay and rate options. The filter is 24dB/oct, resonant low-pass, and there’s a non-resonant high-pass – not fancy, but it works well.

I can’t ship it, so it’s only available for pickup in Colyton, East Devon. I’ve kept it in a good place, and it’s been stored well, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to move it around much. The original price was US$1,695, but I’ve since adjusted it to what I’m comfortable with – £535.50.

If you're a synth fan or just curious about analog, I’d be happy to chat. No pressure, just sharing something I’ve used and loved.
