1997 Bentley Continental R

Description

So, I’ve had this 1997 Bentley Continental R for a few years now — it’s one of those cars that just feels like it belongs in a movie. It came with a bit of front corner damage when I first got it, but I took it to a proper classic car restorer and they did a solid job fixing it. Everything’s back to factory spec, and it’s now looking sharp as ever.

It’s a 2-door coupe, coachbuilt by Mulliner Park Ward — that’s the same shop that did a few of the early models. The engine’s a 6.75L V8 turbo, which still runs smooth. Reg is R35 KGP, and it’s done 25,101 miles since new. Last MOT was July 2026, and I’ve kept it well maintained — full service history, including a proper overhaul in 2025.

Inside, it’s peacock blue metallic with magnolia leather, dark blue carpets, and that royal blue top roll. The trim is burr walnut, and there’s Bentley badging in deep red — I’ve kept all the original details, including the Mulliner kick plates and colour-coded mirrors and headlight surrounds.

It’s got a lot of extras: power steering, electrically adjustable steering wheel, memory seats, heated seats, dual climate control, cruise control, fold-in mirrors, and a centre armrest. There’s a car phone and an Alpine CD unit too. 17-inch alloy wheels, central locking, electric windows, and self-levelling suspension — all factory standard.

I’ve done a bit of extra work on it too: new fuel filter, spark plugs, rear gas springs, front and rear brake spheres, suspension accumulators, water temperature sensor, ignition leads, fuel line O-rings, and ignition coupling. The cooling and braking systems were flushed and bled, and I’ve replaced both batteries.

It’s got two keys, a full owners manual, and all the original parts. I’ve had it serviced regularly, and it’s been properly maintained through the years. I’ve kept it in great condition — not flashy, not over-modded, just a solid, well-built classic.
