JOBLOT x3 Kidde 230V Optical Smoke Alarm Fast Fit with Alkaline Battery
Description
I’ve got a set of three Kidde 230V optical smoke alarms — these are the ones from the Joblot range, so they’re a bit of a bundle. They’re the ones that fit right into the new Kidde Fyrnetics wireless base, which means you can use them with the remote test and hush switch. No wiring needed — just push-fit them in with the screwless terminal block, which makes it super easy to install even after building or if you need to take one out for maintenance. They auto-reset after going off, and the LED lights up to show which one triggered it — super handy if you’re trying to figure out where the alarm went off. There’s a hush and test button too, so you can silence it or check it without needing to go near the base. The green and red LEDs give a clear readout of whether it’s working or not.
These can link up with Slick or Firex hard-wired alarms — so if you already have some of those, you can just add them in without replacing everything. I’ve used them in my home, and they’ve been reliable so far.
They’re white, about 135mm in diameter and 60mm deep, weigh just 0.36kg, and come with alkaline batteries. I’ve kept the original packaging, and they’re BS 5830 certified. The guarantee is six years — solid.
I’m moving to Berkeley, Stroud, and these are just sitting in the cupboard, not being used. I’ve had them for a few years now and they’ve never needed replacing. If you're looking for a practical, no-nonsense smoke alarm set that works well with existing systems, this might be something you’d find useful.
Price is £27 — I’ve only got a few left, so if you're interested, let me know.
