Large Vintage Plush Rocking Horse – 145 cm
Description
I’ve had this rocking horse for years, passed down from my dad — it’s a solid mid-20th-century piece with a golden brown plush body and a yarn mane and tail. It’s quite a big one at 145 cm, so it’s not something you’d casually hang on a wall. The base is wooden, stained and sturdy, with slatted footrests to keep it stable when rocking. The saddle and bridle are all there — burgundy faux-leather, with metal stirrups, though the tack hasn’t been used much, so it’s still in pretty good shape. The plush has a bit of wear, especially on the back and sides where the stuffing shows through — it’s not pristine, but it’s still got character. The wood base is solid and hasn’t wobbled a bit, even after years of being in the same spot.
I’m keeping it because it’s just such a nice piece of vintage furniture — not flashy, not perfect, but real. It’s not something I plan to use much, more of a statement piece in a living room or hallway. I’ve lived in Newport-Pagnell, City of Milton Keynes for a while now, so it’s been in my home for a good few years.
It’s worth noting it’s not in great condition — the plush is worn, and the stuffing has come out a bit — but the structure’s still solid. If you’re into vintage decor or just want a piece that tells a story, this might be something you’d actually enjoy. I’ve been thinking about selling it after a few years of not using it much, and it’s not going to be much to look at, but it’s still a solid piece with a lot of history.
£89.10 — I don’t expect it to go for much, but it’s what I’ve decided to part with.
