Got this Kia Sportage from Bala, Gwynedd – a solid 2021 model with a 1.6 petrol engine and manual gearbox. It’s not flashy, but it’s got all the practical bits you’d want: power sockets in both front and rear consoles, a 3.5in monochrome cluster, 6-speaker system, and an 8-inch touchscreen with European maps and traffic updates. Works with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus voice control on both. DAB radio, Bluetooth, and MP3 support too.

It’s got a telematics system with TomTom features – traffic, speed cameras, local search, weather – all linked through Kia Connected Services. There’s a rear USB port, a shark fin antenna, and a reversing camera with parking sensors. Cruise control with speed limiter, driver attention warning, gear indicator, trip computer, and TPMS. All the windows are electric, with driver’s auto-up/down.

The exterior is clean – black side sills, body-coloured mirrors and handles, chrome trim on the front, and that high-gloss diamond mesh grille. Alloy wheels, privacy glass on the rear, roof rails, and a rear spoiler. Even has a TMK tyre mobility kit and tinted glass.

I’ve used it regularly over the years and it runs well. Just recently had a full service, and it’s been maintained properly. The price is £13,680 – not a lot for what it offers, especially with all the tech and safety features.

I’m not selling it to anyone in a hurry – it’s a solid, reliable car that just feels like it’s been lived in, not just driven. If you’re looking for something practical with modern features and a bit of character, this might be the one.
