French Antique Louis XV Armchair

Description

Got this armchair from a family collection in Mirfield, Lower Hopton – it’s a real French Louis XV style, not a replica. The original frame is solid, and I’ve had it re-upholstered with a duck egg blue and cream tweed from Designers Guild, plus the seat and back padding have been refreshed. The frame’s been painted cream with a nice bit of patina, so it looks lived-in but still elegant. It’s part of a set – there’s another one in another listing if you’re interested. Dimensions are 103cm high, 65cm wide, 60cm deep, with a seat height of 43cm. I’ve kept it mostly as it was, so it’s got character and charm.
