I’ve been keeping this car for a few years now, mostly just to have a solid, reliable family SUV that doesn’t break the bank. It’s a 2019 Skoda Karoq 1.6 TDI SE estate with the manual gearbox – not flashy, but gets the job done. The diesel engine is quiet and efficient, and I’ve had it on the road quite a bit, mostly around Aldershot, Rushmoor.

It’s got a few nice little touches I’ve come to appreciate: 17-inch Ratikon alloy wheels, heated rear windscreen, climate control, and a DAB radio with Bluetooth. The interior is clean and well-maintained – leather steering wheel, foldable roof handles, and storage spots you can actually use. I even keep a bottle of water in the door panels, and there’s a handy net programme in the boot.

It’s got a full safety package – airbags, ESC, ABS, front assist radar, driver fatigue sensor, and all the usual bits. The boot has folding hooks, a cover, and even a bottle holder. The seats are split 60-40, so it’s useful for short trips or when you’re carrying gear.

I’ve had it checked regularly, and I’ve kept the tyres well-maintained – minimum 2.5mm tread. It’s not a show car, but it’s been driven responsibly and looked after. I’ve had it through a few inspections and it’s been vetted properly.
