This 2015 MINI Countryman John Cooper Works is a proper weekend driver with a bit of soul and a lot of practicality. It’s a 5-seater, all-wheel-drive petrol machine with a 1.6-litre engine and a manual gearbox — not flashy, but sharp and responsive. The exterior is black with a solid FSH finish, and the interior is black leather with grey stitching — clean, snug, and feels like it’s been used less than it’s been loved.

I’ve got heated front sports seats with memory settings, a rear screen for kids to play with, and a full touchscreen for climate control, navigation, and audio. The steering wheel is a leather sports model with multi-function controls and paddle shifters — a real driver’s touch. There’s also a rear drop suspension button, cruise control with limiter, electric boot, and auto-hold parking brake.

All the basics are there: LED headlights, auto lights, wipers, electric windows, parking assist, and a full suite of safety features — including ABS, DSC, brake assist, and cornering brake control. The car’s got a full Bluetooth setup with phone connection and wireless charging, plus a MINI Connected system and voice control.

It’s ULEZ-compliant, has a panoramic sunroof, and the wheels are 18-inch twin-spoke burnished black. The interior is trimmed with piano black, chrome accents, and red sport stripes — a bit of flair without going overboard.

I’ve kept it well-maintained, with a solid service history. The mileage is subject to change as it moves between locations — the last place it was based was Stromness, Orkney Islands, but it’s been driven fairly lightly.
