I’ve got a 2020 Honda CRF50F sitting in my garage in Brixham, Torbay — it’s been a real handy little bike for my son as he’s learned to ride. It’s a 49cc air-cooled single with a smooth 3hp output, kick-start only, and easy to handle for beginners. The three-speed gearbox with automatic clutch means you don’t have to worry about stalling when learning how to shift — great for kids.

Safety’s built in too: keyed ignition, so it’s not just for the kids to play with, and a throttle limiter lets parents set the top speed. The seat is low — about 21.6 inches — which helps with balance and makes it easier for little riders to feel confident.

I bought it from Doble Motorcycles, a family-run shop that’s been around for years and has won them a few awards for customer service. They offer nationwide delivery and have a solid warranty on used bikes — even if the factory one has expired, they’ll give a three-month dealer warranty. All new Hondas come with a two-year warranty, and used ones get at least three months.
