Antique French day bed

Description

This old French day bed is a real gem – it’s from the Second Empire period and made of cast iron. The sides are beautifully scrolled, with floral patterns that trail down, and there’s a fancy front piece with a female face in the middle, which is actually quite striking. The legs are well shaped and end in castors, so it rolls easily. I’ve had it in my garden in Corfe-Mullen, Dorset for years – it’s been a nice piece of furniture to have around. It’s not super common, and I’ve kept it well cared for. Just recently I decided to part with it – it’s still in great condition and I’m happy to have a bit of space back. It’s worth £1,350, but I’m not pushing that number. Just thought someone might find it useful or interesting.
