Careco Abilize Stride Sport mobility scooter
Description
I’m getting rid of my Careco Abilize Stride Sport scooter — it’s been a real lifesaver for me over the years, especially when I’m out at country houses or lakes. It’s not super old, only used a handful of times, and has been properly looked after. I’ve had it serviced in mid-June 2025, and it’s been tested and fully checked — the charger and battery are both in great shape. It’s a collapsible Class 2 scooter with a 17-mile range, 22Ah dry sealed lead-acid battery, and a removable battery box (which is heavy, but handy if you’re going on holiday or just want to take it on trips). The seat is super comfy, thick padding, and fully adjustable — great for long days on the ground. The delta tiller means you don’t need a firm grip, which is a real plus when you’re moving around.
It has all-round suspension, so bumps and uneven ground don’t really bother you. The wheels are solid, and it’s got a 57-inch turning radius — makes it easier to navigate tight spaces. It weighs 8st 9lbs, with a 21st 5lbs weight limit, so it’s not too heavy to manage.
I bought it from Careco back in Blaydon, and it’s been in a pet-free, smoke-free home. I’ve used it mostly for local outings, and it’s been really reliable. It was originally £1300, but I’ve now got it for £540 — less than half the price of a new one.
There’s a video on the Careco website that shows it in action, and Which? called it “the best collapsible Class 2 scooter we tested” — I’ve seen that, and it’s honestly a fair bit of a deal.
It fits in the back of a car, as long as you’ve got a decent boot space. I’m not planning to use it much anymore, so I’m just passing it on. If you’re looking for something reliable, comfortable, and easy to use, this one might be worth a look.
It’s in immingham, North East Lincolnshire — just a quick drive from the area.
