I’ve had this piece for years — it’s one of those things you just know you’ll never get rid of once you see it. It’s from The Juliana Collection, a quiet, elegant line of resin sculptures. This one shows a jockey in full silks riding a calm, walking racehorse — like right after a race, when the energy’s still there but the pace has slowed. The detail on the horse’s anatomy is really good, and the bronze finish has that lovely, soft patina that makes it feel lived-in, not shiny. Signed and dated 1995 by Rosa — that’s the artist, so it’s not just a generic piece. It’s cold-cast resin, bronzed, and it’s been sitting in a corner of my studio for ages. I’m moving house next month and it’s just going to take up too much space now. It’s in Leiston, East Suffolk. I’ve kept it clean and stored it well, so it’s in good shape.
