Description

Got this bike back in 2002, and it’s been a real joy to ride ever since. It’s been properly kept — garaged by me and the two owners before me, so no rust, no dings, just solid wear. One year MOT with no advisories, and I’ve had it serviced a few times — full oil change, new spark plugs and filter, all brakes renewed. Front and rear brake pads were replaced a while back, and the bike has only done about 8,000 miles on the V5.

I bought it with new Michelin Commander II tyres — both front and rear — and they’ve only done about 50 miles. The custom pipes and mudguard mods were done by a previous owner, and I’ve never taken it on the road in the rain, so it’s still in great shape.

It’s a 649cc V-twin, carbureted, around 40hp and 43 lb-ft of torque. Seat height’s 27.4 inches, dry weight’s about 511 lbs. Top speed’s around 90mph. Five-speed transmission, electric start, drum brakes on both ends.

I’ve lived in Saltdean, Brighton, for a few years now, so it’s been a real pleasure to keep it in a dry, secure spot. It’s not flashy, but it runs smooth and feels reliable. I’m looking to part ways after a few more years of riding — it’s been a solid companion.

Price is £2,700 — just thought I’d mention it since it’s a fair bit, but I’ve kept it low maintenance and well cared for. If you’re into classic bikes and don’t mind a bit of character, this one’s a keeper.
