This Citroen C3 1.6 HDI 16V Exclusive in black metallic is a solid, well-maintained little car I’ve had since 2010. It came straight out of France new, so it’s been a bit of a journey — moved over to the UK in 2013 and has been with the same driver since. Only 61,000 miles on the clock, and it’s been a smooth, quiet driver with no major issues.

It’s left-hand drive, which is perfect for par, Cornwall — not a lot of people around with that, so it’s a good fit for a villa life. The interior has suede trim, and the car has all the basics: power steering, rear locking with alarm and immobiliser, electric mirrors, windows, climate control, and air-con that actually stays cold in the summer. Alloy wheels with good tyres all round — nothing worn, just a few small dents around the bumpers, nothing major.

Safety features are solid: ABS, airbags, anti-lock brakes, and the car’s got a coded system with fog lights, auto lights, auto wash wipers, and a CD player. Only one key, which is fine — I don’t need to share it.

I’ve had it for over a decade, and it drives spot on. It’s not flashy, but it’s reliable, quiet, and just about the only car I’d trust to go on a long drive to a cottage in the countryside.
