Based on the already desirable manual Carrera 2, the '40 Jahre' was highly spec'd from the factory with a number upgrades including the X51 Power Kit, Turbo front bumper, Aero Kit sill extensions, lower sports suspension, unique badging, and exclusive silver paint from the Carrera GT. Having clearly been cherished and maintained by enthusiast owners since new, the paintwork of this example is deeply glossy with a uniform shine and no scuffs, scrapes, or scratches to report. The overall condition of the car is excellent and the correct 18-inch wheels are also immaculate having just been fully refurbished by Lepsons in a striking dark chrome finish. INTERIOR Inside, the cabin is equally impressive. This particular car was also spec'd with the desirable sports seat option with the backs painted in GT Silver, complementing not only the exterior of the car but also the centre console and subtle aluminium touches. The Anniversary-specific natural leather trim presents extremely well throughout with minimal signs of wear to the seat centre panels and bolsters. The dark grey carpets are spotless and are protected in the footwells by a set of genuine Porsche overmats. An individually numbered plaque on the centre console adds to the sense of exclusivity, and everything works as it should including the electric sunroof and air conditioning. The leather steering wheel and gear knob are both pristine and we've been unable to find any notable wear in any of the common areas. To summarise - excellent mileage-defying condition and still feeling every bit as special as a limited-edition 911 should. ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION Powering the 40 Jahre is a 3.6-litre flat-six, specially tuned to 345hp (25hp more than the standard Carrera) thanks to the factory-fitted X51 Power Kit. Paired with a slick 6-speed manual gearbox, this 996 delivers both immediacy and refinement in equal measure. The car has been very well maintained throughout its life, with a fully documented Porsche specialist service history stamped in the original booklet. Further testament to its careful ownership and low mileage, it's as tight as a drum to drive. For the new keeper's peace of mind, a full mechanical inspection was carried out on arrival with us, and the technicians were pleased to report a clean bill of health with no leaks or issues.
