So, I’ve been keeping this car for a few years now — it’s a 2021 Kia Sportage Estate, petrol, 1.6 GDi, manual, Euro 6 spec. It’s not flashy, but it’s actually quite handy day-to-day.

Inside, it’s got all the basics: 12V sockets in the front and rear consoles, a 3.5-inch monochrome cluster, 8-inch touchscreen with sat-nav and traffic updates (TMC), Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with voice control. The seats are comfy — front and rear have height-adjustable headrests, and the seats themselves are leather-trimmed, which is a nice touch. There’s even heated front and outer rear seats, which I’ve actually used in the winter.

The wheels are 17-inch alloy, and it’s got all the safety bits: ABS, ESC, hill-start assist, anti-lock brakes, and a driver attention warning. I’ve also got the lane keep assist and high beam assist — useful when driving in the country or on long stretches.

It’s got a full range of tech: DAB radio, Bluetooth, passenger airbag cut-off switch, child locks, and even a glovebox with lighting. There’s a coat hook in the back, cupholders, and storage everywhere — not just in the doors, but also in the centre console and armrests.

I bought it second-hand and it’s been well-maintained. It’s not a luxury car, but it’s reliable, easy to drive, and has a solid warranty still running. I’ve used it for both commuting and weekend trips — the 60-40 split folding rear seats are great for carrying a couple of kids or a large load.

It’s currently parked in Loughborough, Charnwood, and I’m just looking to part ways with it. I’ve had it for a while and honestly, it’s been a solid companion.
