Set of Two Vintage Harbour Scene Oil Paintings – Signed “Florence”

I’ve had these two oil paintings in my home for years – they’re a real favourite. They show a quiet harbour with fishing boats tucked into a weathered dock, painted with soft, layered brushwork that gives it a real sense of calm. The sky and water look like they were painted with a bit of magic – not too bright, not too dark, just the right kind of mood. Each one has “Florence” signed in a neat hand, which I’ve found matches a few other mid-20th-century coastal art pieces I’ve come across. They’re framed in matching wood with gold detailing, which helps bring out the warm, maritime feel. The paint is a bit thick in places – you can see the texture, especially in the water and the old dock beams – which gives it character. They’re in very good vintage condition, just a bit of natural wear on the frames, nothing serious. I bought them when I was visiting the Scottish Borders a few years back and have kept them on my wall ever since. They’re not flashy, but they’ve always felt like a piece of the coast I’ve always wanted to own. I’m parting with them because I’ve recently moved to a smaller space, and I think they’d fit perfectly in someone else’s home too. They’re worth a look if you’re into vintage coastal art.
