Got this Tom Tom GO 930 lying around after a few years of use – it’s a spare unit I’ve been keeping just in case. It turns on fine, but the screen doesn’t respond properly, so it’s more of a backup or repair use than active navigation. Still, it comes with the full European, US and Canada mapping pre-loaded, which is handy. The 4.3-inch touchscreen shows 2D or 3D maps, and you can search for any UK postcode down to 8 digits – useful for getting to specific locations. It has the RDS-TMC module, so it’ll give you live traffic updates and adjust routes automatically. I’ve also got the speech recognition – you can just say your destination out loud and it’ll find it, which is a nice touch. It works with Bluetooth phones, so you can get hands-free calls and traffic info. The accessories are all in there: the windscreen bracket (suction cup) is included but might need replacing, and I’ve got the original box with the manual and CD, plus a wall charger. Battery’s still holding up, but it’ll need to be plugged in during longer trips.
