2016 Land Rover Discovery Sport TD4 HSE Auto 4WD Estate
Description
I’ve had this Land Rover Discovery Sport since 2016 and it’s been a solid workhorse for me over the years. It’s got just 64k miles — not much for a diesel SUV that’s been used regularly, especially with the way I’ve driven it. The 2.0L TD4 engine is still strong, and with four-wheel drive, it handles everything from the rougher bits of the Isle of Harris to quiet country roads just fine. It’s a seven-seater, so it’s been great for family trips or when we’ve had guests. The HSE trim means it’s not just a tough SUV — it has things like keyless entry, a rear-view camera, and front parking sensors that make parking way easier. I’ve never had to worry about getting stuck in the hills, thanks to the good traction and the 2200kg towing capacity.
The xenon headlights with LED trim give it a nice look, and the two-zone climate control keeps the back seats warm or cool when we’re out in the wild weather. I’ve also used the ESP and safety belt pretensioners a lot — really helps with confidence on twisty roads.
It’s got a quick 0–60 in 8.4 seconds and hits around 53 mpg — honestly, for a diesel SUV, that’s pretty good. I’ve done a full history check and there’s no red flags. It’s not flashy, but it’s reliable, practical, and actually feels like a proper family vehicle.
It’s sitting in a shed on the Isle of Harris now, and I’m thinking of selling it because I’ve finally upgraded to a newer model. The price is £10,345.50 — fair for what it is, especially with the low mileage and solid service record. If you're looking for a capable, no-nonsense SUV that doesn’t need a lot of fuss, this one’s been a real joy to own.
