Garmin Edge 1040 Solar GPS bike computer
Description
I’ve had this Garmin Edge 1040 Solar for a couple of years now and it’s been a solid companion on my rides — whether I’m on the road, gravel trails, or just cycling around church-stretton, Shropshire. It’s one of those bikes that just feels smart, especially with the solar charging bit. I’ve never had to worry about the battery dying mid-ride, even on long ones. The screen is clear, the interface is easy to navigate, and I love how it tracks power and effort with Power Guide. I’ve used it for everything from weekend rides to training sessions, and it’s actually helped me get better at pacing myself. The maps are solid too — I’ve got the whole world covered, and the Trendline overlay helps me find popular routes.
I’ve kept it in mint condition — no scratches, all the parts (holder, charging cable, cover, mounting kit) are still in the box, and it works perfectly. It’s been used only for riding, never been taken apart.
I’m selling it because I’ve switched to a different model for my daily rides — it’s still a great piece of gear, and I’m happy to part with it. Just a note: it’s £450, but I’ve got a good bit of history with it, so if you’re a cyclist who’s into smart, reliable gear, it’s worth a look.
(And yes, I’ve been riding through church-stretton, Shropshire for years now — it’s a quiet spot, great for cycling.)
