SAS HL2 Trailer Hitch Lock
Description
I’ve got this SAS HL2 hitch lock — it’s the original one, not a knock-off. It’s a solid, heavy-duty thing, built to fit most unbraked trailers with pressed steel heads on single drawbars up to 60mm wide. Works great on trailers like the Boro, Erde, and Brenderup, and fits just about any trailer with a standard drawbar setup. It’s designed to go around things like stand brackets, breakaway cables, or deeper drawbars — even those with cast hitches, as long as they’re mounted on the drawbar. The thing is, it stays locked whether your trailer’s hitched or not, which means no one can just yank it off at a car park or service station. I’ve seen too many trailers get separated by thieves because the hitch handle’s exposed — this one keeps it covered, so it’s a bit of a security upgrade.
The lock itself has a radial pin tumbler mechanism that’s tough to drill, and it’s made of steel with a zinc finish, painted bright red — really stands out. It’s compact and fits in a small plastic case that SAS sells separately, so you can keep it stored neatly when not in use.
I’ve been using it for years on my small camping trailer and it’s been reliable. It fits the Debon 1300, C255, and C300 box trailers too. It’s not fancy, but it does what it’s supposed to — keeps your trailer secure without adding much bulk.
It’s from bodorgan, Hermon — I’ve been keeping it with me for a while now, and I’m passing it on. Price’s £85.50 if you're interested.
