Epiphone Les Paul inspired by 1959 Gibson Custom
Description
So this guitar, I’ve had it for a few years now and honestly, it’s like it’s brand new in terms of look and feel. The neck is a 1959-style rounded C shape — super comfortable, works well for all hand sizes, and feels great from the first note. The finish is that classic vintage sheen, not glossy or flat, just that authentic Les Paul glow you see in old photos. It comes in a hardshell case — not fancy, just solid, and it’s actually been used a bit, but nothing major. I’ve kept it clean and stored it properly, so it’s still in great shape.
Now, here’s the thing — genuine Gibson USA pickups are rare in Epiphone models, but this one’s a special case. It’s got Custombucker humbuckers in both the neck and bridge, which gives it that rich, warm tone you get from vintage Les Pauls. The sound is smooth, not too bright, and holds up well with different genres.
Body: Mahogany with a carved hard maple cap and figured maple binding. The neck is one-piece mahogany, with a medium jumbo profile and a 12-inch radius fingerboard. The nut is Graph Tech, and the inlays are trapezoid — classic. Hardware is all nickel, including the bridge (Epiphone LockTone ABR-1), stop bar (Gibson reissue), and vintage-style tuning machines with tulip keys. The pickguard is cream, knobs are gold with dial pointers, and the electronics are a mix of 50s-era wiring, CTS pots, and Mallory caps.
I picked this up back in the day and just kept it in my studio, never really played it much — mostly just for show, but it’s been sitting well in the corner. Now I’m downsizing and it’s time to part with it.
It’s at longfield, Station Road — just a quick drive from where I live. The price is £720, which I’m comfortable with, but I’m not going to say it in the title.
If you’ve ever played a Les Paul or even just looked at one, you’ll know what I mean — it’s not flashy, but it has that soul. I’m not selling it to get rich, just because it’s sitting there and I don’t need it anymore.
