Framed Vintage Print – Crossing the Brook after J.M.W. Turner
Description
I’ve had this print for years and it’s honestly one of my favourite pieces — it’s a reproduction of Turner’s “Crossing the Brook,” which was originally in the National Gallery in London. The scene is quiet and peaceful — trees, a brook, a bridge in the distance — all of it bathed in that soft, golden light Turner was so good at capturing. It’s framed in a dark wood with a gilt border, and it’s under glass. The print has a bit of foxing and light staining, and there’s a small rip on the left side — you can see it in the photo. The frame has a few minor scuffs and chips, which I guess makes it feel more lived-in. There’s a little crack in the glass too, just visible.
It came with the original wire and hanging ring on the back, so it’s ready to hang. I bought it a long time ago as a gift for my dad, and it’s now a regular feature in my hallway. I’ve never actually tried to sell it before, so I’m just passing it on — it’s not perfect, but it’s definitely charming and full of character.
It’s from Bangor, Gwynedd, and I’m looking for someone who’ll actually appreciate the quiet beauty of it. I’ve got it for £31.50 — not much, really, just because it’s not the flashiest thing. But if you’re into classic British art and quiet, peaceful views, this might just be the kind of piece you’d hang in your home.
