I’ve had this 24-inch Author A-matrix 24 SL bike for a few years now and it’s been great for my son getting into riding. It’s one of the lighter models in the Matrix range, which makes it easy to handle for a kid around 125–140 cm tall. The alloy frame feels solid, and the RST suspension fork gives a bit of give on rougher bits of road — not too much, just enough for the first real rides on field paths or even a bit of off-road. The Shimano Revoshift 8-speed setup is simple to use, and the single chainwheel keeps things straightforward. It’s not super flashy, but it’s been reliable and comfortable through all the early rides. Weight’s around 11.4 kg, which feels light for the size. I’m based in Hengoed, Caerphilly County Borough, and it’s just sitting in the garage, ready to go — I’m not planning to use it much now, so it’s coming off the shelf.
