So, I’ve got this 2006 Alfa Romeo GT 2.0 JTS Coupe sitting in my driveway in Braintree, Essex. It’s not flashy, but it’s got that classic Italian vibe – sharp lines, a sporty feel, and just enough charm to make you smile. I picked it up for a European trip, got to Rome and came back – about 4k miles on the clock, which I’m pretty proud of.

The previous owner put in a fair bit of work – new clutch master cylinder, all the brakes (including rear callipers), suspension arms, exhaust sections, and wheel bearings. I’ve done a few bits myself too: thermostat replaced, short shifter fitted (I’ve kept the old parts in case I want to go back to stock), and the OS R wheel bearing was swapped out.

Engine’s solid – pulls well, runs smooth, and the manual gearbox is a joy to drive. It’s got a 2.0L petrol engine, and it’s actually quite responsive. The interior’s clean and tidy, though not perfect – there’s a bit of faded clearcoat and some minor scratches, especially around the front left wing where it clipped a toll barrier in Italy. I’ve tried to take photos of it all, but honestly, it looks pretty good from a distance. It’d look even better with a bit of polishing.

Some bits don’t work: air conditioning, rear parking sensors, and cruise control. None of these have been a problem in daily use though – it’s still reliable and fun to drive. All the electrics and windows work fine.

It’s got alloy wheels, electric windows and mirrors, an aftermarket stereo/CD player, and remote central locking. The sporty styling is still there – very much in the Alfa spirit.

I’m keeping it with just 2 keys and all the paperwork. I’ve fitted the 4H-TECH TS-Shift short shifter, but I’ve kept the original parts in case I ever want to revert back.
