1997 Toyota Celica GT 2.0L Manual Hatchback
Description
I’m parting ways with my 1997 Toyota Celica GT (ST202) – one of those classic, original-spec cars that just never goes out of style. I’ve had it since 2022 and it’s been a joy to drive, especially on the open road. People always stop and say “that’s a real classic” – which honestly, I’m not sure I’ve heard more than once in the last few years. It’s been properly maintained, passed its MOT recently, and the 2.0L engine runs smooth as silk – no hesitation, no misses. The alloy wheels are still in great shape, and the tyres are solid with good tread. The spare wheel, jack, and tools have never been used – all in mint condition. Two keys with remote included.
The paint’s held up well over 27 years, though the nearside mirror might do with a touch of repaint to match the rest – it’s not a big deal, just a small thing that adds to the car’s original charm. Interior’s spotless, seats untouched, dash and console untouched, and the rear parcel shelf is original with no speaker holes.
I’ve only driven it in summer months over the years – kept it garaged through the winter – so it’s never seen much wear. Comes with the full service book and owners manual. First registered 16/04/1998, MOT expires 15 May 2026.
It’s not flashy, it’s not flashy, but it’s a proper piece of automotive history. I’m moving to Cheshunt, Broxbourne, so if you’re in the area and have a real love for classics, this one’s yours. It’s not just a car – it’s a piece of driving nostalgia.
