Handmade 1980s piebald rocking horse
Description
My dad’s old rocking horse—yes, really. He made it himself back in the 80s for his kids when they were little. Not some factory piece, no—this was hand-shaped, hand-painted, and built with real care. The oak is solid, the joints are strong, and it rocks just right, not too wobbly, not too stiff. The white and black piebald paint is faded a little now, but it still looks warm and old-school, like something out of a childhood photo. I found it tucked away in a shed in rishton, Hyndburn, and honestly, it’s one of those things that just feels right when you see it.It’s not flashy, but it has a quiet kind of presence. I’ve kept it for years, mostly just sitting in the corner, but it still feels like a piece of family history. If you’re looking for something that doesn’t just look vintage but actually feels like it came from a real person’s hands, this might be it.
It’s a bit heavy and large, so collection is easiest—though I’m open to arranging local delivery if needed. I’ve been looking to part with it, and it’s actually only £135. No hard feelings if you’d like to take a look.
