Description

I’ve had this Teac CD-RW890 for a few years now and it’s been a go-to for all my home recordings — from music sessions to just keeping track of events. It records to CD-R or CD-RW, which is handy if you don’t want to spend much on discs. I use it mostly for analog inputs, and the front-panel FL display lets you see the recording level in real time — super useful when you’re adjusting levels. The way the discs sit in the center mount means less vibration, so the sound’s a bit cleaner than you’d expect from a budget machine.

It’s also a solid CD player — you can play back tracks in different modes, repeat them, shuffle, or go through them in A-B sections. The 1/4" headphone jack has volume control, which is a nice touch. I keep the remote handy for when I’m doing recordings in the kitchen or living room. There’s also a rack mount kit if you want to go full DIY setup — I didn’t end up using it, but it’s there if you’re planning to mount it.

It’s not a fancy machine, but it’s reliable and does the job well. I’m moving to Kingsbridge, West Alvington, and it’s just sitting in a drawer now, so I thought I’d part with it. Price is £144 — no issues with that, just wanted to be clear. If you’ve got any questions or just want to chat about using it, I’m happy to answer.
