2017 Mercedes-Benz A-Class 1.6 Sport 7G-DCT Euro 6 5-door hatchback
Description
So, I’ve had this 2017 Mercedes A-Class for just over five years now, and honestly, it’s been a solid driver through everything — work trips, family holidays, even that one time I needed to haul a caravan to the beach. Only two owners before me, so it’s been well looked after. The 1.6L petrol engine isn’t flashy, but it’s smooth and gets you from 0 to 62 in about 8.6 seconds — not a rocket, but good enough for daily use and a bit of fun when you want to take the road a little harder. It’s Euro 6 compliant, which means it’s not going to be a headache with emissions checks down the line.
I’ve never needed to replace the brakes or engine — just a few minor wipers and the occasional filter change. The interior’s been kept pretty clean, and I’ve never let it go past 30,000 miles. The seats are still comfy, especially the front ones — I can adjust the height and cushion angle, and the heated seats are a real plus in winter.
The LED headlights are a big plus, especially at night. They have high beam assist and day running lights, and the mirrors fold and auto-dim — that’s a small thing, but it really helps when parking or driving in the dark. The rear-view camera with 180-degree view is a lifesaver when I’m getting out of tight spots.
I’ve kept the car in mint condition — no major dents, no scratches, just the occasional little scuff. The boot’s generous too — plenty of room for a couple of suitcases or a camping setup.
I’ve got a Garmin sat nav pre-wired, and the audio system is solid — CD, MP3, Bluetooth, even a touchscreen that’s not the most modern, but it works. The climate control’s two-zone, which is nice when driving with someone who likes it cold and someone who likes it warm.
It’s got all the safety stuff — ESP, ABS, brake assist, lane change indicators, even a crash sensor that opens the doors in an emergency. The active park assist and hill start assist are handy when parking on a slope.
It’s not a luxury beast, but it’s not a budget hatch either. It’s got a bit of character, good build quality, and it’s been reliable. I’m moving to Mintlaw, Aberdeenshire, and I’m not sure if I’ll keep it long-term — it’s just not the right fit for my lifestyle anymore.
It’s been a good ride, and I’ve had a lot of use out of it. I’m not selling it for a lot — it’s just a car I’ve kept for years, and now I’m passing it on. If you’re looking for something reliable, well-equipped, and not too flashy — this might just be your kind of car.
(Price is £10,259.10 — not a big number, honestly, given what it’s been through.)
