Got this Audi A1 in 2011 and it’s been a solid companion ever since. HPI clear, so no worries there, and it’s been properly looked after — regular servicing, including a full timing belt and waterpump replacement. The 1.6 TDI puts out 105bhp and runs smoothly, which is great for a diesel — it’s pretty economical and not too expensive to insure. Road tax is only £20 a year, which I’ve actually found surprising given the age.

Inside it’s clean and tidy, with electric windows and mirrors, Bluetooth, central locking, and multifunction steering. The seats are partial leather, which adds a bit of comfort without being flashy. I’ve kept it well maintained and it’s got a long MOT valid until January 2025.
