Description
I made these curtains a few years ago for my old home in Mallaig, Highland. They were hand-made by a local haberdashery, using fabric that cost £30 a metre — gold, bronze, browns, and reds, all quite striking. The lining is beautiful and they’re still in great shape, like I haven’t opened them in ages. I’ve been thinking about letting them go since I moved — they’re not exactly the kind of thing you’d use every day. A few years back, a collector in West Bridgford was paying £500 for similar ones, so they’re not just ordinary curtains. If you’ve ever seen something like this, you’ll know what I mean.
