Description

I’ve had this manta ray bowl for a few years now – it’s one of those pieces that just feels right in a kitchen or living room. It’s a bit worn around the edges and the bottom has some scratches (you can see them in the photos), and it’s missing its box, which is fine – it’s not a big deal. The original packaging wasn’t important to me, so I just kept using it.

It’s about 28cm across, so it’s not tiny – it’s a decent size for a decorative piece. Weighs in at around 720g, so it’s solid but not heavy. The design is inspired by the gentle, flowing shape of a manta ray – the curves go all the way around, and there’s some fine scoring that adds a bit of texture. It’s made from cast aluminium and has a nice bright nickel finish that doesn’t fade.

I use it mostly as a catch-all – for keys, phones, or just to keep small things in when I’m cooking or working. It’s not fancy, but it’s got a quiet elegance that makes you pause when you see it. I’ve kept it in my kitchen at home in hurstpierpoint, Mid Sussex, and it’s been a nice little touch over the years.

It’s not perfect – scratches, no box – but it works. If you’re looking for something that’s a bit quirky and adds a soft, organic vibe to a space, this might be it. If you’ve got questions, just send me a message. I’m happy to chat.
