I’ve got a 2014 VW Transporter T5 2.0 campervan sitting in Hove, Brighton and Hove – it’s been my weekend go-to for years, and honestly, it’s still in great shape.

It’s a solid 2-bert pop-top setup with a rock-and-roll pull-out bed that folds down neatly, so it’s perfect for couples or solo trips. The pop-top adds extra headroom and airflow, which makes a real difference when you’re camping in the countryside or just hanging out in the hills.

Inside, there’s a webasto heater that keeps things warm no matter the weather, a webasto oven and a Panasonic microwave – so you can cook your favourite meals without being tied to a kitchen. There’s also a compact sink unit, which is handy if you’re doing a bit of cooking or just washing up.

I’ve used it for everything from coastal drives to weekend hikes – it’s reliable, easy to manage, and the tow bar means it’s not too heavy to pull behind a small trailer or bike carrier.
