Sony HR-GP5 Guitar Multi Effects Processor with HR-RC5 Remote Controller
Description
I’ve had this Sony HR-GP5 for years and it’s one of those gear pieces that just works well in a live or home setup. It’s from the 90s, so not the latest model, but the delays, reverbs, and modulation are still solid. I’ve heard it might have some of the same algorithms as the rare Sony DPS V-77 rack units — that’s a bit of a geeky detail I’ve been curious about. The distortion and amp sims are more typical of that era, but it’s still got a nice character. The original battery was hard-wired to the board, which means it won’t boot up if the CR2032 dies — a bit of a pain. I swapped it out and now it’s in a velcro-mounted holder so it’s easy to pop in or out when needed. Comes with the non-original power supply and a 3-metre cable for the remote footswitch. The original boxes are still in the pack too.
No manual, but it’s not hard to find online. I’m based in Andover, Test Valley, and it’s ready to go if you’re interested. I could send it to the UK mainland for £10 — just let me know if you’re up for it.
